Rooted in Heritage. Driven by Purpose.
ABOUT USUST US
We believe great beef comes from great care - from soil to feed to family values that haven’t changed in generations.
A Legacy Rooted in the Soil
OUR STORY
In Christiana, Pennsylvania, the land remembers. It carries the footsteps of the Quakers who settled here generations ago - and among them, the Metzler family, who arrived in 1750 with little more than determination and a devotion to farming.
Since then, this land has raised more than crops. It has raised character.
For Jerry, the farm was never just a business. It was a living classroom - and his greatest teacher was his grandfather. He remembers the way his grandfather would walk the fields with quiet intention, memorizing the traits of every Holstein in his registered purebred herd. Breeding wasn’t just science - it was stewardship. Each cow carried possibility. Each bloodline told a story.
Today, Jerry works the same soil with the same care - though the cattle have changed. Holsteins have given way to purebred Black Angus and Wagyu, raised with intentional breeding and the same devotion his father and grandfather practiced before him. The family tradition continues - only now, it has evolved.
The Values that Shape Us
What guides us is simple: intention, respect, and honesty in every step. These values aren’t slogans. They’re the foundation of everything we raise and everything we release into the world.
-
We honor the soil that sustains us, caring for it through thoughtful grazing practices and an unwavering commitment to regenerative methods.
-
Our approach is shaped by centuries of family wisdom — a blend of intuition, tradition, and hands-on understanding that cannot be rushed or replaced.
-
We believe animals thrive when treated with dignity. Calm environments, attentive handling, and daily stewardship shape the heart of our work.
-
From breeding decisions to nutrition to harvest, we choose what is best — never what is easiest. Quality is built, not manufactured.
